“Gracenote” is an actual musical note that embellishes the harmony or melody of a song. They may see small and insignificant but in the world of true music these notes make all the difference.We are a collection of artists whose common goal is to simply make great music. How we bring this music to the world is our commitment: to always make every performance a distinct and remarkable experience for our audience.
Gracenote (Eunice Jorge – lead vocalist, Chen Pangan – Guitar and backup vocals, Alvin Ortiz – Guitarist, Jazz Jorge – Bassist, EJ Pichay – Drums) was founded in the hallways of St. Scholastica’s College Manila where they first met with the exception of Jazz, who was recently added after their former bassist left the band at 2009. From their humble beginnings playing at minor productions, they won a variety of contests: first runner up at the Sing for Cancer Battle of the Bands 2008, Nescafe Soundskool Finalists 2008, and Grand Champion of the DZUP: College Collision 2009.
It was their first performance at ABS-CBN’s Music Uplate Live, a show that featured music artists, was where they had their first real break in the music scene at 2010. A few school concerts, events, and experiences later they finally landed to become part of Soupstar Entertainment, an artist management company that handles bands such as <S>andwich, 6cyclemind, and Callalily. With new management and vision they are currently finishing their 5-track EP Album and will be releasing their first single entitled, “Minsan Lang Naman”.
When someone hears the band’s name, Gracenote, immediately one identifies these artists’ affinity with music. The members of the band are deeply connected with their music and they try their best to uniquely compose and write lyrics about love, relationships, and the picturesque Filipino youth culture.
Members of Gracenote are not simply artists that write about youth culture but they are very much part of the youth. Their songs are a testament to their various experiences as young independent musicians trying to make their mark in the Filipino music history.
Through their energetic live performances they electrify audiences in Metro Manila and beyond with the use of internet technologies such as YouTube and Facebook.Someday they hope that their music not only becomes locally renowned but internationally famous. Sisikat na tayo (We’re going to be famous) is what they embed in their passions, with every composition, song and performance, and 15,000 fans and still counting believing in them.
