Biography

Kerplunk, an all-boy, Alternative, Novelty, Pop Rock Band from Gen. Trias, Cavite. Founded in 1996. The band consist of JEFFREY PALOMPO on Lead Vocal and Guitars, ACE DELOS SANTOS on Lead Guitar and Vocals, BRYAN DE ASIS on Bass and FRANCIS LOZARES on Drums and Percussion. The group is known for exerting high energy and fun entertainment to all class of audience; from the Party-Music hungry Upper-Class people of Makati and Malate; the Hard-Rocking, Alternative, New Wave dudes of Quezon City, Cavite and Laguna to jerking-off with their novelty pop antics among the happy masses of Manila and Baguio City or in the far out provinces of Batangas and Bicol.In their formative years under the name of "NEW AGE", the band was turned on to the directions of Pinoy-Novelty. Though it was said; "nobody takes a novelty band seriously!"With their successful career and some good friends like Ramon "THE DOCTOR" Zialcita, the band was given a chance to make and release their own album, with a self-titled debut album "KERPLUNK" under IVORY RECORDS on December 1998. It's pure Filipino novelty rock with a very youthful spirit. The group scored their first hit, with the song "MELON TREE" an adoptation to a hit single "LEMON TREE".

They promoted their album with the song "SUPERMAN" complete with music videos in almost all shows like "Today with Kris", "Cristy Per Minute", "Unang Hirit", "Campus Video", and many more.The next year they were able to contribute the song "HALIK" in a compilation album titled "Rock of the Filipino Alternative scene" under OCTO ARTS EMI RECORDS.They also joined the "SMB" jing-a-ling, original song writing, battle of the band contest, that held at MTB (ABS-CBN) on December 2003 with the song "SA ARAW NG PASKO", and won the champion. The next year, December 2004, another original composition "PASKO NG BARKADA" enters the finals.After years of live performances, the band has grown a bit in stature and in their music. KERPLUNK is a must have for all fans of any type of music.
