Death By Stereo is a band formed and became famous in the 90's for their anthemic songs and progressive metal sound. Jerome Abalos, the voice behind the hit love song "Larawang Kupas,” started his musical career in the late 90s as the lead vocalist of thrash-metal rock group Death by Stereo. It was the first thrash-metal local band to record an album in a major label. Three months after their debut album was released, the band received a Gold Record Award. After his successful stint with Death by Stereo, he left the band and formed his own. Thus, Majesty, a progressive metal band with a blend of heavy metal, jazz fusion, funk and pop, was formed. However, his stay with his own band did not last. In 1999, he left Majesty and went on his career as a solo artist. He recorded his first solo album under Vicor Music Corporation and was released in 2000. Included in the album is his hit song "Larawang Kupas”. Barely two months after its release, the album was a certified gold record and in a few more months, it became platinum. In 2002, his second album, "Jerome Abalos Two,” was launched. It featured several revivals such as the Freddie Aguilar original "Bulag, Pipi at Bingi”, “I Never Cry” by Alice Cooper, and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” which was originally sung by the Rolling Stones.
