Cover Me Quick! is no ordinary boy band from the Philippines. They prefer to play their music in genres like Alternative Rock, Powerpop or Pop Punk, inspired by popular bands such as Sugarcult, The All-American Rejects, Dashboard Confessional and others. Cover Me Quick! is currently composed of four music experts. Rodel “Box” Garchitorena is not gifted with good vocals only but his flair in guitar is worthy of appreciation and so with Erikson Pasamba who played the guitar and did vocals also. Eco Garchitorena played the drums and vocals while Ernesto “Ernie” Bangiban on bass and vocals. The group started out way back 1998 with founding members: Rodel “Box”, Ernie and Mark Jay. Brothers Mark and Box started jamming after acquiring a new guitar and a second hand drums. They were able to convince Ernie to jam with them and the group. The trio then became solid and joined Battle of the Bands. They made it to the extent that they record demos for those who are interested. With constant stalking of Box to Suzi Cosino who is responsible for the booking of performer, they eventually got their own stint. Initially named as “Big Cheese”, the three decided to change it to “Just Add Water” before stepping on stage. But after thinking that the set sucked, they immediately changed it into “Cover Me Quick”. So, since then, the name stuck. Making their name ring in almost all band competition, the group continued recording demo songs and in no time finding their song in a CD containing two songs: “To the Girl I Did the Other Night” and “Hija”. Their songs gained sufficient exposures on radio and in TV. Cover Me Quick! became visible in the local circuit, playing gigs across metro. Their demo captured the attention of Alpha Music and got their first recording contract. On October 30, 2002, the label released the band’s debut album entitled “Road Juan” with carrier singles, “Sandali Lang”, “Tulala”, and “Dilang Gila”. Sandali Lang was ranked no. 9 at the popular Midnight Countdown of NU 107. The band stopped gigging after troubles with their label arises. However, the band continued recording songs in Shinji Tanak’s Sound Creation Studios. They were able to produce 15 songs from 2004-2004 but were not released. Finding their core music, Cover Me Quick! found themselves playing Powerpop music influenced by popular bands of such genres. With the help of Mally Paraguya, the band was able to secure a contract with Viva Records and released its second album entitled “Mga Kantang Galing Sa Loob Ng Kwarto Ko” on February 27, 2007. The success of the album is due to the full cooperation of the members. The three contributed songs to come up with a ten-track album. Shortly after the release of the second album, Cover Me Quick! employed another much-needed guitarist, their long-time friend Erikson Pasamba. With the new member, the band expects fuller and more comprehensive sound. The band was officially back to the live circuit on September 30, 2008. A L B U M SAlbum1 : Road Juan
