The band was formed in summer 2002, from unknown corners of Nueva Ecija in the Philippines, Filipino indie band EYESCREAM emerged as the frontrunner of Cabanatuan City's pride in the Pinoy rock music scene. They coined the name EYESCREAM, pertaining to their expression of emotions through music, just like how our “eyes scream what's inside our hearts.” They first tested the waters in band competitions in late 2002. However by late 2003, Jun Mendoza and Jay-r left the band, rooting from conflict of interests and different priorities. Soon after, the rest of the soldiers marched in, Pipz Cariaga (rhythm guitars), Jeff dela Cruz (bass guitars) and Regie Fabros (turntables/sessionist), forming the most formidable band in Nueva Ecija. EYESCREAM competed in numerous band competitions, and as expected, they always made their way to the top, earning not only the honor but also the respect of other local bands. Come September 2005, Red Horse Muziklaban, the most happening competition for amateur bands set the record straight. After series of rigid eliminations EYESCREAM proved their worth by being the Northern and Central Luzon Champion, besting 1000+ amateur bands in the region, and made it to the grand finals. Within the same year, another celebrated band competition opened its doors, the Global Battle of the Bands 2005. Hailed again as theNorthern and Central Luzon champion, they vied against the “cream of the crop” in the grand finals, side by side Sandwich, Jeepney Joyride, and The Authority just to name a few. Most critics define their music as melodic rock, mainly alternative with a repertoire of Metal, Punk and other genres coming from the roots of each member's musical influences. But what sets EYESCREAM apart from their contemporaries, aside from incorporating the vocal powers of main frontman Epoy Quipse, is their refreshing creativity in songwriting with a kick of spunkiness and spontaneity. Blending musical geniuses in the most downright claim that EYESCREAM only deserves. Expect loudness with sense, guitar fusion in harmony, honest wordings with depth, undeniable rapport and pure passion for the love of music. Today, EYESCREAM has just released an album called Memories produced by REBOLUSYON REKORDS. Ten original tracks for your listening pleasure.
